PHIL 450: Directed Study in Philosophy (Dr. Dinkins): Reference Sources

Online Reference Sources

Reference sources like encyclopedias provide you with background information about your topic.  Reference books are a great place to brainstorm for topics or look for potential keywords for your search. Reference books are also useful when you come across unfamiliar names or concepts during your research. To find relevant online reference books, search OneSearch for a broad keyword and limit your search to "Reference" in the left column.

"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."

“Don’t be in a hurry to condemn because he doesn’t do what you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time when you didn’t know what you know today.”

“My alma mater was books, a good library… I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity.”
