Wofford OneSearch makes it easy to find everything our library has on a topic, including books, articles, reference materials, and many other types of materials. OneSearch looks and feels a lot like Google--only OneSearch is limited to the library's trusted resources!
The default search excludes newspaper articles and book reviews. You'll need to add them back to your search if you want them.
Full Text Online will limit your search to articles available online. You can limit further to Scholarly Articles or to Peer-Reviewed articles.
Wofford Catalog will focus your search on books, e-books, and films (that is, DVDs)--it will exclude articles.
Limiting by Content Type allows you to go quickly to a particular type of material.
Selecting Discipline or Subject terms or Publication date or Language enables you to refine your search accordingly.
Try connecting your search terms using "AND." For example, if you are looking for reliable articles about the design of modern mosques, search for mosques AND architecture AND modern, then limit to scholarly articles.
Check out the Advanced Search option at the top of the screen. It allows you to limit a search to a specific field. For example, let's say you are looking for works by (instead of works about) a particular artist. You simply would enter the artist's name in the Written/Created by field.
Whenever you retrieve a full-text article that is available in both pdf and "text" format, select the pdf over the "text" because the pdf is a scanned image of the article as it originally appeared in publication.
