Details: "From Problems to Pimps" traces Sidney Poitier's film career from the "Problem Pictures" to the dawn of Blaxploitation. The evolution of Poitier's roles--and how audiences responded to them--illustrates how significantly Black identity and American race relations changed between 1950's "No Way Out" and 1972's "Buck and the Preacher." This event is open to the public.
