Albert Gray '71 was the first Black student to enroll at Wofford in 1964. These are some of the clippings from his archives file.

Douglas Jones '69 was the second Black student to enroll at Wofford, and was the first to graduate in 1969.

Joyce Payne Yette '80 was in the first class of women resident students. She graduated from Harvard Law School, and in 1986 joined the Wofford board of trustees. She joined the board again in 2017.

Dr. Katy Close graduated from Wofford in 1983, then earned an MD and has worked as a physician and philanthropist.

Dr. Douglas Wood graduated from Wofford in 1990, and later earned his PhD at Harvard. He was the 2018 Commencement speaker.

Wendi Nix was the student body president at Wofford, graduating in 1996. She has been a sports reporter and anchor and a member of the board of trustees.
