The William Robertson Boggs Family Papers

The William Robertson Boggs Family Papers:

This collection consists of the family papers of William Robertson Boggs, a Georgia native perhaps best known for serving as a General specializing in artillery in the Confederate States Army. Though named after Boggs due to its apparent provenance, a considerable portion of the collection consists of correspondence between and records relating to Boggs’ relations, including that of his daughter Elizabeth (née Boggs) Taylor, his wife Mary Sophia (née Symington) Boggs, his son Archibald Boggs, as well as his son-in-law William Barrett Taylor, and Taylor’s brother Henry P. Taylor.

This collection consists primarily of correspondence between individuals part of or associated with the Boggs family. A significant portion of the collection consists of correspondence of Bogg’s daughter Elizabeth McCaw Boggs. The collection consists of over 400 discrete items.
