Learning Management Systems

Description: Services supporting the sharing and management of course materials (e.g., videos, documents, spreadsheets, etc.) and facilitating learning through collaboration

Eligibility:  faculty, students

How to request:  Contact the IT Help Center

Initiated:  ITS Help Request system, contact with ITS Help Center staff; on-line Moodle courses created automatically for every Wofford class

Availability:  Consultation and support available 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, except for College holidays and closings. On-line resources available 24 x7 except during scheduled maintenance periods

Charges:  There is no charge for this service

Features:

  • Coordinate management and maintenance of campus learning management system and required subsystems
  • Coordinate course, user, and enrollment creation
  • Assess and implement new features and remove deprecated features as required by the campus community
  • Assist faculty with best use of Wofford learning management systems features

Pre-requisites:

  • Supporting infrastructure
  • Request within the scope of ITS/campus goals
  • Funding for required software and hardware
  • Wofford ID and password

Service Targets:

  • Perceived service level for “Having online services that enhance the teaching and learning experience” above minimum on annual Techqual survey

  • Moodle availability to exceed 99% (less than 7.2 hours per month downtime) excluding scheduled maintenance periods
  • Mean time to repair break/fix incidents less than 4.5 business days
