The number of phishing email attacks on Wofford accounts is increasing. If you receive a phishing email, please notify ITS as soon as possible by emailing Using helps us remove the phishing message from the email system quickly.

Phishing may be hard to spot initially. Here are a few things to look for to help identity possible phishing emails:

  • Creates a sense of Urgency
  • Job offers that will only communicate over email
  • Request sensitive data
  • Contains links that do not match legitimate organizations or the organization contacting you
  • The offer is too good to be true
  • Requests your Wofford username or password
