Suggest the Purchase of a Book

Did you know that we rely on faculty input to keep our collections relevant and strong?  You are the experts in your fields.  You know what the most important literature is; you hear about new publications and productions first.  And we really appreciate it when you share that information with us!

Click this simple form to make suggestions for book purchases.  You'll be directed to sign into myWofford first.

Thank you for your help!

Film Requests

The library is committed to meeting the course-related needs for film and providing access to films in the optimal format whenever feasible. The library has access to thousands of films.

Please check our collection of DVDs and streaming videos before placing a purchase request.

DVDs

  • The library purchases standard DVDs due to the availability of standard DVD players in classrooms.
  • The library primarily purchases films for Region 1 which are compatible with standard DVD players in the United States. However, there are times when international films are not sold in Region 1 format. The library purchases international films requested by faculty, regardless of region to meet course needs. The library owns region-free DVD players that may be checked out by Wofford faculty, staff, and students.

Streaming Video

  • One-year streaming video licenses are considerably more expensive than DVDs, so please be judicious when requesting streaming video.
  • Please submit requests as early as possible; the process of acquiring films can be time-consuming and we want to fill as many requests as possible.
  • For more information about the use of films for academic purposes, including details about when public performance rights must be obtained, please see the Copyright Guide

Public Performance Rights

The library does not have a budget for public performance rights. If you wish to show a film to a group other than students enrolled in a specific course, like a student club or a group of majors, the copyright exception does not apply, so you need to obtain public performance rights to show the film. If you need public performance rights for a film, please contact the Department of Campus Life and Student Development.
