Special Collections Librarian

A Typical Day at the Library

I catalog Special Collection materials for discovery and support the long-term preservation of collections. I also assist students from History, Philosophy, or Military Science in their class-related research, or collaborate with a professor from those departments in designing and delivering a library instruction session to their class. Sometimes I lead or collaborate on the design of exhibits displayed in the library gallery, or digitize materials from the collections and publish them to our digital repository. I also collaborate with faculty and librarians on building the library's general collection and digital resources, and consult and advise with librarians and library colleagues on developing policies, procedures, and optimizing the library experience for students, faculty, and staff.
