About

Purpose

The Student Library Advisory Board brings a distinct student perspective to the improvement of library services, spaces, collections, and programming through honest feedback and sharing diverse experiences and needs.  Student advisors advocate for students, shape library services, and spread the word about library initiatives and resources.

Membership

The library staff is represented by the Dean of the Library, the Student Success Librarian, and the Access Services Librarian (chair). The student body is represented by five to seven student advisors that serve one-year, renewable terms beginning in Spring Semester.

Selection Process

  • one student advisor is selected annually by Campus Union
  • remaining student advisors are selected through an online application process at https://wofford.libwizard.com/f/SLAB
  • membership renewal invitations will be sent by Thanksgiving break each year

Expectations of members

  • student advisors must be able to serve both spring and fall semesters
  • attend all in-person meetings (two in spring, and three in fall semester)
  • positively contribute to the purpose of the advisory board
