EDUC 200: Foundations of Education

APA Citation Style

APA Citation Style is a format used to credit sources in academic writing, commonly applied in the social sciences, including education. APA (American Psychological Association) style provides a consistent structure for citing books, articles, websites, and other sources, ensuring clarity and uniformity across scholarly work.

We use APA format in education courses for academic integrity, credibility, professionalism, and organization. The current edition of the APA citation style is the 7th. You can find information on how to format your paper and bibliography using the APA citation style using the following:

The Concise APA Handbook: APA 7th Edition - Ebook - Unlimited Users (Chapter 4: In-Text Citations and Chapter 5: Making Your List of References)

APA Formatting and Style Guide (7th Edition) - Purdue Online Writing Lab

APA Style and Grammar Guidelines - American Psychological Association

The Sandor Teszler Library has a print copy of the Publication manual of the American Psychological Association : the official guide to APA style, 7th ed. in the Reference Collection ; BF76.7 .P83 2020. You are welcome to visit the library and use the book anytime the library is open.

Citation Builder Software

ZoteroBib is a powerful citation management tool that helps you organize your research and automatically generate citations in formats like APA, MLA, and Chicago. It simplifies the process of building a bibliography and managing references while you write your paper.

However, while Zotero can assist with creating citations, it’s ultimately your responsibility as a student to ensure that your paper and bibliography are formatted correctly. Automated tools like Zotero are helpful, but they may not always catch every formatting detail. Be sure to review your citations carefully and follow the specific guidelines required for your assignment.
