Wofford's Classic Catalog contains records for books, ebooks, journals, videos, and audio, but no journal articles. If you are looking for books, the Classic Catalog has some special features that you can use to locate highly relevant books and narrow your search easily.
To navigate to the Classic Catalog, click on the tab labeled "Classic Catalog" above the main search box on the library homepage, then enter your keywords in the search box.
Subject terms are descriptions attached to library catalog records to describe the content of a book. Using subject terms, you can find all books owned by Wofford that discuss a particular subject. When looking at a book's catalog record, click on any subject term to see more books on that topic.
In this example, when we click on "Southern States -- Church History," we see that there are 32 books at Wofford that have this subject heading.
Click on the link to see all the books tagged with the subject heading.
You can also browse subject headings to find similar topics. For example, near the entry for "Southern States -- Church History," we see an entry for "Southern States -- Church History -- Encyclopedias."
Clicking this link takes us to a useful reference book on the history of religion in the south. We can also use the subject headings as inspiration for future searches.
